Abstract: The paper presents an experimental study of the resistance of ZigBee wireless networks to radio frequency jamming. Using a software-defined HackRF radio and the GNU Radio environment, an interference generator model has been implemented targeting ZigBee target channels. Passive traffic analysis and identification of operating frequencies using CatSniffer were performed. The high vulnerability of IoT sensors to interference has been experimentally proven, which is confirmed by failures in the telemetry time series. The results obtained are important for building secure smart home and smart city systems. The presented results also allow an in-depth assessment of the resistance of ZigBee networks to targeted radio interference and serve as the basis for further developments in the field of protecting wireless IoT protocols from attacks at the physical level.
